Plein air is a French expression which means “in the open air” where you set up your easel outside to paint. A few of us in the group were not painters so we went off to hike or take photographs. The first few photos were taken while driving to Moab. There’s a lot of space between Fruita, Colorado and Moab, Utah. Make sure your gas tank is full and your bladder is empty. The bulk of the photos were taken at Dead Horse Point and Canyon Lands. We had great weather, blue sky and 80 degrees, though the blue sky isn’t the best for photography.

light and weather conditions.
May 2015 has been the second coldest and rainiest month of May on record. Here’s some shots from Belmar Park (Lakewood, CO) of the day’s thunder head barreling in. For the last three weeks we’ve hardly seen the sun. This day there was a couple of hours of sun but then we were socked in again.
Happened upon City Floral Garden Center last weekend. Wow, what amazing colors. Overflowing with flowers and plants ready for Spring planting. I ended up taking these shots with my cell phone as my usual camera was not with me.
